Horizon’s Solar Dispatch - July 2026

Welcome to the July Edition of The Solar Dispatch!

As more homeowners embrace clean energy, attention is shifting from simply generating electricity to using it more intelligently. Battery storage is emerging as an important piece of that puzzle, but is it worth the investment? In this edition, we cover:

  • Horizon Insights on residential battery storage and how to choose the right solution for your home.
  • Horizon’s latest residential solar installation on a heritage home in Jodhpur.
  • Key solar sector updates from India and around the world.
  • The latest innovations shaping the future of solar

Horizon in the Spotlight

25 kW of clean energy, thoughtfully integrated into a heritage home

This month, we showcase one of our recent projects, a 25 kW rooftop solar installation on a heritage residence in Jodhpur. The project proved that modern renewable energy can coexist beautifully with traditional architecture. The project will save ₹3.55 Lakhs in electricity bills and avoid 22 tonnes of CO2 every single year!  Watch the video!

Horizon Insight

This month, we are shining the spotlight on one of India’s biggest builders, literally! Cement drives infrastructure, but its carbon footprint is massive. In this edition, we see how solar power can help.

  • Cement & Carbon: The hidden emissions behind every bag and solar solutions that make a difference. Plus, a peek into how cement manufacturers are integrating renewable energy (RE).
  • As always, we also have a roundup of the latest solar sector news from India and abroad.
  • Finally, some tech innovations that caught our eye this month.

Cement quite literally builds modern India, but it comes with a steep carbon cost. India, the world’s second-largest cement producer (391 MT annually), generates ~226 MT of CO₂ emissions from this sector alone.

To grow sustainably, the industry must pivot and the solution is right above us! Solar power is already helping India’s cement leaders lower emissions, lock in savings, and strengthen competitiveness. Read more

Austrian scientists testing foldable PV system with dual-axis tracking

At night, and particularly during severe weather events, the modules automatically fold together and lie flat on the ground. Connected to a local weather station and regional forecasting models, the system is designed to protect the modules from wind loads, snow accumulation, dust, and hail damage.
