The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), India’s apex institution for public health policy, training, and capacity building, faced the challenge of powering an expanding campus with rising energy needs. As a centre of excellence that supports critical public health programmes, an uninterrupted and cost-effective power supply was essential to its mission.
At the same time, NIHFW recognised its responsibility to lead by example in adopting green governance practices.
Transitioning to solar power was the obvious choice for them!
Horizon Renewable Power, under a contract from NVVN (NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, implemented a rooftop solar PV system at NIHFW under the RESCO model. The system was set in place with zero capital investment by NIHFW and ensured long-term energy savings.
